Slime Care Instructions

How to Care for your Slime

Each order will come with Slime Care Instructions.

  • It is important to always wash your hands before handeling your slime. Slime can harbour dirt and bacteria over time and to maximize the life span of your slime, you should always play with clean hands. Be aware that if you handle your clear based slimes with dirty hands, the slime will become discolored and cloudy and there is no way to fix this.
  • After you are done playing with your slime, wash your hands again and always store your slime in the container with the lid closed tightly. Do not leave your slime laying around. Keep it away from your clothes, carpet, fabrics, furniture and away from your pets. Children under the age of 5 years should not be playing with slime. Children under the age of 8 years should not be playing with slime without adult supervision.
  • Store your slime in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.

My slime is sticky. What do I do?

Clear based slimes are more prone to becoming sticky than other slimes. All orders come with a spray pen with pre-filled Borax. To make more activator, mix 1 tsp of Borax with 1 cup warm water until the Borax is completely dissolved. Then either pour the solution in the activator spray pen and spray on your slime, or dip your fingers and palm in the solution and knead your slime. Add a little activator at a time until you get the consistency that you want. If you add to much, you will over-activate your slime and it will become hard.

My slime is hard. What do I do?

Slime may arrive stiff due to cold weather or you might have accidently over-activated it. You can try first to warm up the slime in your hands. For white based slimes, you can add lotion or baby oil and knead it. For clear based slimes, you can add vegetable glycerin or leave the slime to sit in the container for a few days. Clear based slimes de-activate over time.
